Dating uncertain – probably the boundary of Upper Röt Lower Muschelkalk (Anisian), Triassic

Upper Silesia, Poland

A well-preserved coprolite (fossilized feces) of a marine predator. Inside the coprolite, undigested fish remains (primarily ganoid scales) were preserved, strongly suggesting a piscivorous diet.

The coprolite is cylindrical, approximately 26 mm long and 10 mm in diameter. Its considerable size and shape suggest that it was produced by reptile.

SilesianTriassic is a private hobby project about fossils from the Triassic of Silesia. I try to document and interpret specimens as best as possible, but identifications are tentative and may be incorrect.
